Hiring: Community Manager

Hiring: Community Manager

London-based · Volunteer, fixed-term internship (3–6 months) · FORE COMMUNITY

The role

FORE COMMUNITY is the infrastructure behind everything else we do, and this role runs it. Patreon, our WhatsApp community, email, LinkedIn, all of it. Not simply posting updates and announcements, but actually building an online space where people feel connected and have access to opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have access to.

This is one of the roles most directly tied to FORE's growth, so if it goes the way we think it can, it's also one of the strongest candidates for a paid role at the end of the term.

What you'll do

  • Manage day-to-day engagement across Patreon, WhatsApp, email and LinkedIn

  • Grow and nurture Patreon membership specifically

  • Connect community members to opportunities, each other, and the wider FORE ecosystem

  • Spot what the community needs before they have to ask for it

  • Feed insight back into the wider team on what's resonating

What we're looking for

  • Already builds community for free; this shouldn't be a new instinct we're teaching from scratch

  • Naturally warm, but organised enough to actually run multiple channels without dropping any of them

  • Believes in the anti-gatekeeping mission, not just chasing the job title

  • London-based; some of this role benefits from being close to the ground

Commitment

  • Minimum 2 hours/week direct contact with the team (weekly meeting)

  • Self-directed the rest of the week

  • Occasional in-person time with the community and wider team

What you'll get

This will be a structured internship, not a vague "help out when you can" invite. You'll move through four stages: Shadowing, Development, Ownership, Accreditation, with real responsibility by the end of it, not just busywork at the start.

At the end of your term, you will receive:

  • A FORE certificate

  • A tailored reference

  • Portfolio work you can actually use

  • A listing in the FORE creative directory

  • Continued FORE community membership

  • Post-programme mentoring

Travel is covered for anything in-person. This role has a genuine path to paid work should our Patreon grow the way we expect; we'll be upfront with you about where that stands as we go.

How to apply

Send us a short note on who you are, plus an example of a community you've built or contributed to (a WhatsApp group, a Discord, a Patreon, anything real counts).

To apply, please send an email to Info@fore.uk with the ‘Application:[Job title]’ as the subject along with your CV and any evidence of previous work or relevant experience.
