London-based · Volunteer, ad hoc (directory-based) · FORE COMMUNITY / Events
The role
Our events are made possible by the people who work behind the scenes; setting up, packing down, and finding solutions to the inevitable minor setbacks. This isn't a role you commit to week in, week out; it's a directory of people we call on for events, briefed beforehand and working on the day.
If you want a genuine way into FORE events without signing up to a fixed schedule, this is it.
How it works
You'll be added to our Events Assistant directory. When an event's coming up (420 Mag, tournaments, art shows, Carnival Party, FORUM IV), we'll reach out to whoever's available, brief you on what's needed for that specific event, and you show up on the day ready to assist.
What you'll do (on the day)
- Support setup and pack-down
- Manage guest flow and general on-the-day logistics
- Liaise with vendors alongside the Events Coordinator
- Problem-solve; quick solutions to snags along the way
- Be a visible, welcoming presence for FORE's community at the event
What we're looking for
- Reliable; if you say you're in for an event, we need to be able to count on that
- Calm under pressure; events rarely go exactly to plan
- Sociable and approachable; you will be talking to guests, vendors, and each other
- London-based, able to attend in person on the day
- No experience necessary; we'll brief you on everything specific to the event
Commitment
- No fixed weekly requirement, no regular meetings
- A pre-event briefing ahead of any event you're assisting on
- Attendance on the day itself, including evenings and weekends depending on the event
What you'll get
Working events with FORE isn't nothing; it goes toward a reference and accreditation over time, and it's a natural route into more structured roles like Events Coordinator if you want to go further. Plus, you gain consistent connection with a bright creative community that you can learn and grow from. Travel is covered for any event you're briefed in for. This one's genuinely as flexible as it sounds; you pick up events as they suit you.
